After our last pre-tour concert in 2013 – “Journey to Venice”, NUSSO held our newest pre-tour concert, “Journey to Italy”, on the 18th of June!
The mini concert was held in UTown Auditorium 2, just two floors below the practice room where our musicians rehearsed vigorously for the upcoming Italy tour. Many of NUSSO supporters, friends, and family were there to experience the exciting programme we prepared for the tour. The programme boasted pieces from various points in history, expressing the notion that music as a universal language, expresses emotive stories and connects to us regardless of time, or culture.

NUSSO ended its concert on a truly joyous note – the encore piece was an adorable composition by Strauss, Im Krapfenwaldl, which was inspired by the sounds of the forest and its lively residents, birds of all kinds.
We would like to express our gratitude to these generous people, whom without them will this concert will not be possible: Mr Ng Kok Song, Mr Goh Yew Lin, Mr Joseph Grimberg, Ms Chua Beng Hwee.
NUSSO would also like to convey its appreciation to the following people for their gracious guidance and presence: Maestro Lim Soon Lee (Music Director/ Conductor), Mr Foo Say Ming (Assistant Conductor), all tutors of NUS Symphony Orchestra, NUS Centre For the Arts, staff and managers, NUS Wind Symphony, and NUS Jazz Band.
Stay tuned for more updates for our upcoming concerts in Cremona, Florence, and Bologna!
